Service Overview
What Is a Full House Renovation?
A full house renovation involves the complete transformation of a residential property — from structural alterations and rewiring to plastering, flooring, kitchen and bathroom installations, and final decoration. It is the most comprehensive construction service available and requires a contractor capable of managing multiple trades seamlessly.
This service is ideal for homeowners who have purchased a property that needs modernising, landlords preparing a rental for market, or families who have outgrown their current layout and want to reconfigure rather than relocate. It is also increasingly popular with property investors looking to add significant value before resale.
Professional project management is essential for a full house renovation. Without it, timelines slip, budgets overrun, and the quality of work suffers. At MN Construction, we assign a dedicated project manager to every renovation, ensuring each phase is coordinated, inspected, and delivered to the highest standard.

Why It Matters
What Happens When Renovations Go Wrong
Attempting a full house renovation without experienced professionals — or worse, coordinating multiple independent tradespeople yourself — almost always leads to costly mistakes. Structural issues get missed during initial surveys. Electrical and plumbing rough-ins conflict with each other. Finishing trades arrive before wet trades have completed, causing delays that cascade across the entire programme.
We regularly take over projects from homeowners who started with budget contractors or tried to manage the process themselves. The cost of fixing poorly executed work typically exceeds what a proper renovation would have cost from the outset. Damp issues from incorrect waterproofing, cracked plaster from rushing drying times, and substandard electrical work that fails inspection are among the most common problems we encounter.
Beyond the financial impact, a poorly managed renovation creates enormous personal stress. Living in a construction zone for months longer than planned, dealing with unreliable tradespeople, and discovering hidden problems mid-project can be overwhelming. Our systematic approach eliminates these risks entirely.
In-Depth Detail
Our Full Renovation Capabilities
Structural Alterations & Extensions
We handle load-bearing wall removals, steel beam installations, loft conversions, rear and side extensions, and underpinning. All structural work is designed by our partnered structural engineers and completed to Building Regulations standards. We manage party wall agreements and planning applications where required.
Electrical & Plumbing First Fix
Complete rewiring to BS 7671 standards, new consumer units, lighting design and installation, underfloor heating systems, full plumbing overhauls including boiler replacements, radiator repositioning, and bathroom/kitchen supply and waste routing. All work is certified by qualified Part P and Gas Safe registered engineers.
Plastering, Rendering & Insulation
We provide skim coat plastering over existing surfaces, full replastering to bare brick, dry-lining with thermal insulation boards, external K-rendering for improved weather protection and aesthetics, and internal lime plastering for period properties requiring breathable wall systems.
Kitchen & Bathroom Installation
From bespoke kitchen design through to final snagging, we manage kitchen and bathroom installations as part of the wider renovation programme. This includes cabinetry, worktops, tiling, sanitaryware, extraction, and all associated plumbing and electrical connections.
Flooring, Decoration & Final Finishes
Hardwood, engineered timber, porcelain tiling, luxury vinyl, carpet — we supply and fit all flooring types. Final decoration includes preparation, priming, and application of premium paints and wallpapers. We also install skirting, architrave, door furniture, and all finishing ironmongery.
Residential vs. Commercial Renovations
While our primary focus is residential, we also undertake commercial renovation projects including offices, retail units, and HMO conversions. Commercial projects require additional considerations around fire safety, accessibility, and commercial building regulations, all of which we manage in-house.
Our Proven Process
How We Deliver Results
Initial Consultation & Site Survey
We visit your property, discuss your vision and requirements in detail, assess the structural condition, and identify any potential challenges. This visit is completely free and comes with no obligation.
Design, Planning & Quotation
Based on the survey, we produce a comprehensive scope of work, detailed timeline, and fully itemised quotation. Where needed, we coordinate with architects and structural engineers to produce plans and submit planning applications.
Strip-Out & Structural Phase
The property is carefully stripped back to the required level. Structural alterations including wall removals, steel installations, and any extension work are completed and inspected before proceeding.
First Fix — Electrical, Plumbing & Carpentry
All services are routed and roughed-in. Stud walls are erected, door linings fitted, and the mechanical infrastructure is tested before being concealed behind plasterwork.
Second Fix, Finishing & Handover
Kitchens and bathrooms are installed, flooring laid, decoration completed, and all fixtures fitted. We conduct a thorough snagging inspection, obtain all certificates, and hand over your transformed home.
