    Service Overview

What Does a Bathroom Renovation Include?

A complete bathroom renovation encompasses the removal of all existing fixtures, reconfiguration of plumbing and electrical services, waterproofing, tiling, installation of new sanitaryware, heated towel rails, ventilation, lighting, and all finishing work. We handle every element from initial design through to final snagging.

This service suits homeowners updating a dated bathroom, converting a spare room into an en-suite, installing a wet room for accessibility, or upgrading a family bathroom to accommodate growing needs. We work with properties of all ages — from Victorian terraces requiring careful adaptation to new-builds needing specification upgrades.

Bathrooms are technically demanding environments. Water, electricity, heat, and humidity all coexist in a small space. Incorrect waterproofing leads to leaks that damage structural timber. Poor ventilation causes mould growth. Badly installed waste pipes create drainage problems. Professional installation isn't a luxury — it's a necessity.

What Does a Bathroom Renovation Include?

    Why It Matters

Why Cutting Corners in Bathrooms Costs More

Bathroom failures are among the most expensive domestic repairs. A slow leak from a poorly sealed shower tray can go undetected for months, rotting floor joists and damaging the ceiling below. By the time the problem is visible, remediation costs can exceed the original renovation budget.

We frequently encounter bathrooms where the previous installer failed to properly tank the shower area, used incorrect adhesives for wet-zone tiling, or connected waste pipes with insufficient fall. These shortcuts save hours during installation but create problems that persist for years.

Ventilation is another area commonly neglected. Without adequate extraction — properly ducted to the exterior, not just into a loft space — moisture saturates walls and ceilings, encouraging black mould growth that is both unsightly and a health hazard. Our installations always include correctly specified and ducted extraction.

    In-Depth Detail

    Bathroom Renovation Expertise in Detail

Wet Room & Walk-In Shower Design

We construct fully tanked wet rooms using specialist membrane systems that provide complete waterproofing. Floor gradients are precisely calculated to ensure water drains efficiently without ponding. Frameless glass screens are fitted to engineered fixings capable of supporting their weight safely. Suitable for both ground floor and upper floor installations.

    Sanitaryware & Brassware Selection

We supply and fit wall-hung and back-to-wall toilets, pedestal and wall-mounted basins, freestanding and built-in baths, and a full range of shower systems including thermostatic valves, rain heads, and body jets. We work with brands including Roca, Duravit, Villeroy & Boch, Crosswater, and more.

    Tiling Materials & Techniques

Our tilers work with porcelain, ceramic, natural stone (marble, travertine, slate), large-format tiles, mosaics, and feature tiles. We use flexible adhesives and anti-fracture membranes to prevent cracking over underfloor heating. All grouting is sealed, and silicone joints use premium mould-resistant formulations.

    Underfloor Heating Integration

Electric underfloor heating beneath bathroom tiles is one of the most popular upgrades we install. The system adds minimal height to the floor build-up, provides comfortable warmth underfoot, and operates efficiently as a standalone heat source or alongside a heated towel rail. We fit Warmup, Schlüter-DITRA, and similar systems.

    Plumbing & Drainage Systems

We install new hot and cold supply pipework in copper or PEX, reconfigure waste and soil pipe connections, and upgrade water pressure systems where required. Concealed cisterns, macerator systems for basement bathrooms, and thermostatic mixing valves are all within our scope. All plumbing work is tested under pressure before enclosure.

    Lighting, Ventilation & Electrics

Bathroom electrical installations must comply with Part P regulations and IEE wiring regulations for special locations. We install IP-rated downlights, LED mirrors, shaver sockets, and extractor fans with humidity sensors. All work is certified by our Part P qualified electricians.
