Service Overview
Complete Fencing Solutions for Every Property
Our fencing installation service covers the complete process from removing existing fencing and preparing the ground, through to erecting new posts, fitting panels or boards, installing gates, and applying protective treatments. We work with all standard fence types and can create bespoke designs for properties requiring something unique.
New fencing is needed when existing boundaries have deteriorated, blown over, or rotted beyond repair. It's also required for new-build properties, properties being subdivided, gardens being redesigned, and situations where improved security or privacy is needed. The right fence adds significant practical and aesthetic value to any London property.
Professional installation ensures that posts are set to the correct depth with adequate concrete foundations, panels are level and properly secured, and the fence line follows the boundary accurately. A professionally installed fence will withstand decades of London weather. A poorly installed fence becomes a recurring expense.

Why It Matters
The Hidden Costs of Cheap Fencing
The most common fencing failure is inadequate post foundations. Posts set in shallow holes without enough concrete lean, rot at ground level, and eventually collapse — typically during the first serious storm. Re-erecting a fallen fence costs nearly as much as installing it properly the first time.
Using untreated timber is another frequent false economy. Untreated softwood fence posts can rot through at ground level within 3–5 years, even when set in concrete. The post rots inside the concrete collar, causing sudden failure with no warning. Our posts are pressure-treated with preservative, and we offer concrete posts as a premium alternative that eliminates timber rot entirely.
Boundary disputes frequently arise from fence installations that don't follow the legal boundary line. An incorrectly positioned fence can create expensive neighbour disputes, and in some cases, requires removal and repositioning at the installer's cost. We verify boundary positions before installation and advise on ownership responsibilities.
In-Depth Detail
Fencing Types & Installation Detail
Closeboard (Featherboard) Fencing
The strongest and most durable garden fence type. Individual vertical boards are nailed to horizontal arris rails fixed between posts. The overlapping boards create a solid, wind-resistant structure with no weak panel points. Closeboard fencing is built on-site and can follow sloping ground without stepping. We use pressure-treated timber throughout with either timber or concrete posts.
Fence Panel Systems
Pre-made fence panels — available in lap, overlap, hit-and-miss, and contemporary designs — provide a cost-effective fencing solution. Panels are fitted between slotted concrete or timber posts for easy future replacement. We supply standard 6ft x 6ft, 6ft x 5ft, and custom-height panels. All panels are pressure-treated for longevity.
Contemporary Slatted Fencing
Horizontal or vertical slatted fence designs create a modern, architectural aesthetic increasingly popular in London properties. We build slatted fences using either cedar, treated softwood, or composite materials. Spacing can be adjusted for varying levels of privacy and light penetration. Metal post options are available for a fully contemporary look.
Picket & Decorative Fencing
Traditional picket fencing for front gardens, decorative boundaries, and period properties. Available in pointed, rounded, and flat-top styles, in heights from 3ft to 4ft. We also install estate-style post and rail fencing for rural and semi-rural properties. All picket fencing is primed and ready for painting.
Gate Installation
We supply and install garden gates, side gates, and driveway gates in timber, metal, and composite materials. Gates are hung on heavy-duty hinges with appropriate latches, locks, and drop bolts. Automated gate systems for driveways are available through our specialist partners.
Concrete Posts, Gravel Boards & Base Works
Concrete posts and gravel boards provide maximum longevity by keeping timber off the ground and eliminating post rot. Concrete slotted posts accept standard panels and can last 50+ years. We also install concrete gravel boards beneath timber closeboard fencing to prevent bottom-rail contact with damp soil.

How We Deliver Results
Boundary Survey & Assessment
We assess the fence line, verify boundary positions, check ground conditions, and discuss your requirements for style, height, and materials. We identify any access constraints or neighbour coordination needed.
Quotation & Material Selection
A fixed-price quote covering all materials, labour, old fence removal, and waste disposal. We help you choose between timber and concrete posts, panel and closeboard systems, and finish options.
Old Fence Removal
Existing fencing is carefully dismantled and removed. Old concrete post stumps are excavated where possible. All waste is cleared from site and disposed of responsibly.
Post Installation & Fencing
Posts are set in concrete at the correct depth and spacing, checked for plumb and alignment, and allowed to cure. Panels, boards, and arris rails are then fitted level and secure.
Gates, Finishing & Clean-Up
Gates are hung and adjusted for smooth operation. Any additional treatments are applied. The site is cleaned, all waste removed, and the completed fence inspected for quality.
